Harvard College Opera presents a recital of vocal works in conjunction with Dario Robleto’s exhibition at the Radcliffe Institute of Advanced Study (Johnson-Kulukundis Family Gallery of Byerly Hall at 8 Garden Street, Radcliffe Yard). FREE admission.

HCO ✕ BSO: A Night at the OperA

Harvard College Opera joins the Bach Society Orchestra for a concert featuring operatic works by Rossini, Donizetti, Borodin, Gounod, Mozart, Massenet, and Strauss. Paine Hall.

Harvard college opera guest arist series: masterclass & discussion with MORRIS ROBINSON

Thursday, November 21st @ 4 pm.

Operatic bass Morris Robinson presents a master class, generously supported by the Office for the Arts at Harvard, featuring singers involved with Harvard College Opera and Harvard-Radcliffe Gilbert & Sullivan Players.

The master class will be held in Paine Hall and is free and open to the public.

28th Annual mainstage opera: Die zauberflöte (THE MAGIC FLUTE)

Performances run Friday, January 31 through Sunday, February 9.

Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) is Mozart’s majestic, transcendental opera in two acts blending myth, magic, and a remarkable variety of wonderful music to deliver its future-facing, forward thinking, and life-affirming message: love conquers all. Sung in German with English supertitles. All performances are family friendly.

Sunday, February 2 @ 1:30 pm.

Following the matinée performance of Die Zauberflöte, Harvard College Opera invites families to join cast, staff, and orchestra members for a peek backstage and to meet characters in costume. Refreshments will be offered. Free and open to audiences of all ages.

Die Zauberflöte 4th annual opera gala: An Evening Amongst the Sun and Stars

Saturday, February 8 @ 9:30 pm, following the 6:30 pm performance of Die Zauberflöte.

Harvard College Opera hosts the 4th annual Gala celebrating Harvard’s premier undergraduate opera company. Held in the grand Horner Room of the Agassiz Theater, featuring refreshments, music, a photo booth, and lively merriment in the spirit of the timeless art of opera. The Gala is ticketed and open to all — alumni, guests, faculty, family, friends, and all members of our community. Tickets available soon!

Friday, February 28th @ 4:00 pm.

Operatic soprano Dana Varga presents a vocal master class and arts entrepreneurship workshop, featuring singers involved with Harvard College Opera and open to artists of any discipline at Harvard. The master class will be held in Leverett Library Theater and is free and open to the public.

Harvard College Opera will present a showcase featuring our wonderful first-year performers! The concert will include vocal and instrumental works by classical composers. The performance will be held at the Signet Society and is free and open to the Harvard community.

ARTS FIRST: The SLEEPING BEAUTY

On May 3, during the annual ARTS FIRST Festival presented by the Office for the Arts at Harvard, Harvard College Opera will present a semi-staged, one hour performance of Benjamin P. Wenzelberg’s one-act opera, The Sleeping Beauty in the Smith Campus Center Commons. Free, family-friendly, and open to the public.

ARTS FIRST: Va, Pensiero”

On May 20, Harvard College Opera proudly presented its rendition of “Va, pensiero" from Verdi's opera Nabucco. Despite the global pandemic and its widespread impact on society, including art-making, HCO is proud to remain resilient and contribute to a virtual version of Harvard's annual ARTS FIRST Festival, coordinated by the Harvard Office for the Arts.
