Sava Thurber

Sava Thurber is a junior studying Environmental Science and Engineering. This is Sava's third year performing with HCO as a violinist. Last year, Sava was the orchestra manager for HCO's main stage production of Cendrillon, and he now works as HCO's masterclass coordinator. Outside of HCO, Sava regularly performs with the Harvard Radcliffe Orchestra, including in their international tours to Korea and Japan, and with chamber music ensembles across campus.

Sava originally studied with Louise Kandle and later with Eva Gruesser. In high school, Sava was the concertmaster for the Phillips Exeter Academy Symphony Orchestra, Goel Center for Theater and Dance Pit Orchestra, and the Boston Youth Symphony. In recent years, he won the Lakes Region Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition and the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, and was a semi-finalist in the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. Sava now studies with Daniel Chong and works as a Head TF with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras. Sava is excited to join HCO for another production cycle!
