Ruva Chigwedere, from New Jersey by way of Zimbabwe, is a junior at the college pursuing a joint concentration in Theater, Dance, and Media and History and Literature. Previously, she has sung the role of Dorothée in HCO's production of Cendrillon, and played Caliban in the world premiere of Mateo Lincoln's musical adaptation of the Tempest. Outside of HCO, Ruva serves as co-president of Harvard's Black Community and Student Theater, sings with the Kuumba Singers, and loves taking dance classes.

Ruva has trained with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, where she played Kate in Taming of the Shrew, and the AST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Krakow, Poland. She also has performed in the American Repertory Theater's production of The Emperor's New Clothes as Tailor 2 and in a touring production of Sophocles' Electra as Clytemnestra. Ruva is excited to be dipping into the world of opera again, and would like to thank her family for their continued support!
