NAYOUNG YANG
Violinist NaYoung Yang studied violin performance at the Juilliard Pre-College with Dr. Ann Setzer from 2009 to 2014, and with Dr. Eugenia Choi. In the Pre-College, she also studied piano as a secondary instrument with Ms. Adelaide Roberts. She currently studies violin with Prof. Soovin Kim of the New England Conservatory of Music and Robyn Bollinger.
She debuted as a soloist at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center as a winner of the 2010 New York International Music Competition, and has played since with various orchestras in NY, NJ, and PA, including the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey, the World Youth Alliance Chamber Orchestra, the Ambler Symphony Orchestra, the Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra, the NJIO Symphony Orchestra, and the Island Chamber Symphony. She has also performed in several master classes including one with the legendary violinist Mr. Joseph Silverstein in 2012. NaYoung has participated in several music programs including the Great Mountain International Music Festival, the New York Youth Symphony, the Meadowmount School of Music, and the Sulzbach-Rosenberg Inteharmony Music Festival.
At Harvard, NaYoung performs in chamber groups and in the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra as one of its concertmasters. She’s really excited to be coming back for HCO’s Die Fledermaus this year! She also served the HRO as its President in 2017, and led the orchestra’s tour to Argentina this past summer 2017. She has worked in the Lee Lab of the SCRB department since 2015 and led Harvard’s Partners in Health: Engage chapter from 2014-2016. NaYoung is currently a senior in Lowell House studying Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology,
Music, and French.
