Lucas Huang Amory

 
 

Lucas is a senior in Winthrop House double concentrating in German and Music while concurrently pursuing a Masters in Piano Performance at the New England Conservatory of Music with Hae-Sun Paik. He has been involved in the last couple of HCO productions, first as répétiteur and continuo player for Le Nozze di Figaro, then as assistant director of The Merry Widow. As a pianist, Lucas has soloed with the Harvard Radcliffe Orchestra, has been a fellow at top music festivals nationally such as the Ravinia Steans Music Institute and the Music Academy, and has collaborated with and received instruction from a myriad of esteemed musicians, including Julian Martin, Nico Muhly, Claire Chase, Bruce Adolphe, Robert Levin, Gilbert Kalish, Jonathan Biss, Alessio Bax, the Escher Quartet, among others. Lucas has also foraged into conducting, as this year’s music director of the Harvard Bach Society, as well as co-music directing last year’s HRDC production of Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812. He is also a Ferris Choral Fellow in the University Choir of Memorial Church. As a member of the HCO Board, he is honored to be the Masterclass Coordinator.
