JAMES LESU'I
James Lesu’i is a baritone graduate student majoring in opera at The Boston Conservatory. James majored in Vocal Performance at California State University, Fullerton. He is affiliated with the professional music fraternity Mu Phi Epsilon. James currently studies voice with the highly acclaimed teacher of singing and opera singer Dr. Rebecca Folsom. He recently participated in the intense summer program called OC Ars Vocalis Academy in Rome, Italy where he worked with world-renowned opera singers Dubravka Zubovic and LA Opera’s Milena Kitic. James sang in a master class by California State University Fullerton’s alumna and opera diva Deborah Voigt. In addition, he premiered the role of Jack Highstraw for composer Richard Pearson Thomas’s newest opera titled A Wake or a Wedding. He most recently performed the role Wolf in The Boston Conservatory’s production of Little Red Riding Hood by Seymour Barab and sang Lucifer with The Boston Conservatory Baroque Ensemble’s performance of Handel’s La Resurrezione. James hopes to continue performing and teach choir at the K-12 and collegiate levels.
With music, James ultimately wishes to help shape the world into a more positive place to live and thrive. He plans on accomplishing this by teaching professionally at all levels, performing, and continuing to learn and grow as a musician. As a music educator, James’s goals center on inspiring young individuals to love and/or pursue music, sharing the gift of song to children and young adults, and touch peoples hearts. This in turn, will hopefully help in his shaping a world for the better through the art of Music.
