Harvard College Opera dares you to dream in Massenet's stunning rendition of the most beloved fairy tale of all time. Alongside deeply human moments of tragedy and hardship, Cinderella finds her happily ever after in this irresistible opera of beauty, whimsy, and love.

We will rehearse music throughout the fall, and the production will be staged over J-term. Performances will run in February 2019.

All auditions will take place in the Horner Room of the Agassiz Theater (5 James Street, Cambridge, MA).

Please prepare a song or aria of your choice. A selection sung in French is completely optional but welcomed if you have it.

Callback Materials

Cendrillon (Cinderella): third system of p. 81 ("Reste au foyer...") through first system of p. 84 ("...aux cieux!").

Madame de la Haltière (the Stepmother): p. 35 ("Prenez un maintien gracieux...") through the first system of p. 40 ("ce soir") – in the opera there would be some others singing with her at points in this passage, but we would like to hear just her part for the callbacks through this whole excerpt.

Le Prince Charmant (Prince Charming): p. 156 ("Allez, laissez-moi...") through 159 ("et seul!").

La Fée (The Fairy Godmother): p. 87 ("Ah! douce enfant...") through p. 93 ("Cendrillon!") – we will cut the piano interlude on p. 89 for the purposes of callbacks.

Pandolfe (Cinderella's Father): p. 20 ("Ah! que je souffre...") through the fourth system of p. 21 ("souffre!").
